Indus Westside Hospital Camp Activities Feb 2011

 

1. Health Check-up Camp at Nirmal Public School on 5th Feb’11


The Health Checkup Camp was arranged at Nirmal Public Shool on Saturday the 5th Feb’11. Dental & Pediatric screening was carried out by our Dental Surgeon Dr. Pandari rai & our Paediatrician Dr. Anjana. This also included BMI, free dental & paediatric counseling. We had 230 registrations, who underwent relevant checkups and investigations pertaining to the clinical domain. Some of them were immediately taken care and some of them were asked to come to the Hospital .Those who were in need of immediate medical treatment were also given prescription. We had 2 paramedics as nursing staff & our marketing personal to initiate specific activities.

 

 

2. Health Check-up camp @ Ashraya Play Home on 8th Feb’11

 

The Health Checkup Camp was arranged at Ashraya Play Home on Tuesday the 8th Feb’11 . Dental & Peadiatric screening was carried out by our Dental Surgeon Dr.Pandari rai & our Paediatrician Dr. Anjana. This also included BMI, free dental & paediatric counseling. We had 70 registrations, they underwent relevant checkups and investigations pertaining to the clinical domain. Some of them were immediately taken care and some of them were asked to come to the Hospital .Those who were in need of immediate medical treatment were also given prescription. We had 2 paramedics as nursing staff & our marketing personal to initiate specific activities.

3. Health Check-up camp @ Bethesda High School on 10th Feb’11.

  

The Health Checkup Camp was arranged at Bethesda High Schooll on Thursday the 10th Feb’11 . Dental & Peadiatric screening was carried out by our Dental Surgeon Dr.Pandari rai & our Paediatrician Dr. Lingraju. This also included BMI, free dental & paediatric counseling. We had 250 registrations, who underwent relevant checkups and investigations pertaining to the clinical domain. Some of them are immediately taken care and some of them are asked to come to the Hospital .Those who were in need of immediate medical treatment were also given prescription.We had 2 paramedics as nursing staff & our marketing personal to initiate specific activities

 

 

4. Health Check-up camp @ Nirmal Public School on 12 Feb’11

5. Health Check-up camp @ Gopalan Public School on 16th Feb’11

The Health Checkup Camp was arranged at Nirmal Public School on Wednesday the 16th Feb’11  Dental & Peadiatric screening was carried out by our Dental Surgeon Dr.Pandari Rai & our Paediatrician Dr.Parimala. This also included BMI,free dental & paediatric councilling.We had 150 registrations, who underwent relevant  checkups and investigations pertaining to the clinical domain. Some of them were immediately taken care and some of them were asked to come to the Hospital .Those who were in need of immediate medical treatment were also given prescription.We had 2 paramedics as nursing staff & our marketing personal to initiate specific activities.

 

 

Community Outreach Program

 

IWH has a dedicated team of 10 people, who visit House Hold door to door in the nearby communities and promote IWH health card. They do the basic health check including BP, BMI and Diabetic screening for each family member. To date we have covered more than 20000 houses & distributed over  42000 cards. This is a group activity constituting 10 team leaders & each team has 6 supportive members in this campaign.

 

Vajpayee Arogyasree Camps at Hubli (23rdFeb’11), Haveri(14th Feb’11) & Bijapur(11th Feb’11)

 

We had three successful mega camps at Hubli,Haveri & Bijapur  where we had a registration of 172, 110, & 92 patients  respectively. In this aggregate the # of patients screened both cardiac & non cardiac were 54, 29, & 19 respectively. Explicitly on cardiac at Hubli were 20 & the non cardiac 34, similarly at Haveri 9 cardiac & 20 non cardiac, at Bijapur 10 cardiac & 9 non cardiac patients. February alone we have treated over 20 non cardiac patients at IWH & the non cardiac cases have been designated dates for the procedures & accordingly follow up mechanism  is in place.

Dr. Rahul our Cardiologist & Dr. Meera ENT surgeon were at the Hubli camp, Dr.Chandrashekar our surgeon & Dr. Gilbert our Cardio thoracic surgeon were there for Bijapur camp & for the Haveri camp we had our orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Anil & once again our cardiac surgeon Dr. Gilbert. ECG, Echo & RBS were the diagnostic tools deployed in all these camps where we had our in house echo technician Mr. Sridhar present.

1. Health Check-up Camp at Press Club on 23-11-2009.

                The Health Checkup Camp was arranged by Indus Westside Hospital in Press Club of Bangalore on 23-11-2009 i.e on Sunday. Ayurvedic, General Surgery, Gynecology, ENT, Pediatrics, Orthopedics and Dental. Along with that we had BMI, ECG and RBS (Glucometer). We had 142 registrations, who have undergone several checkups and investigations. Some of them are immediately taken care and some of them are asked to come to the Hospital .Those who were in need of immediate medical treatment were also given prescription.

2. Health Check-up camp @ Balamuri  Ganesha Devasathana (Jnanabharathi Layout) on 29-11-2009

 

The Health Checkup Camp was arranged by Indus Westside Hospital at Balamuri Ganesha Devasathana (Jnanabharathi Layout) on 29-11-2009. Ayurvedic, General Surgery, Cardiology, ENT, Pediatrics, Orthopedics & Dental consultation was arranged along with that BMI, RBS (Glucometer), ECG and ECHO. We had 115 registrations, who have undergone several checkups and investigations.

 

3. Awareness Talk @ Janapriya Abodes on 16-12-09

 

An awareness talk was organized by Indus Westside Hospital @ Janapriya Abodes on

Dr. Shankar Bijapur has addressed the gathering and gave a brief talk on Women’s health.

Presentation was followed by a question & answer session.

Around 60 people have participated in the event. 

 

4. Health Check-up camp @ Dharamshree Resorts (Nelmangla ) on 14-03-2010

 

The Health Checkup Camp was arranged by Indus Westside Hospital at Dharamshree Resorts on 04-04-2010 i.e on Sunday. Ayurvedic, General Surgery, Cardiology, ENT, Pediatrics, and Orthopedics consultation was arranged along with that BMI, RBS (Glucometer), ECG and ECHO. We had 90 registrations, who have undergone several checkups and investigations.

 

 

5. International women’s Day @ IWH on 08-03-2010

 

Indus Westside Hospital is celebrated “International woman’s day” by offering the following check-up for free of cost

   a) Dental Screening 

   b) Skin & Cosmetic Consultation

   c) Eye Check-up 

   d)  Body Mass Index

   e) Gynecology Consultation

Namma Ladies club was also launched on this day and was inaugurated by Famous Kanada actress Pooja Gandhi. Doctors interview was also done on All India Radio 93.5 FM.

More 60 ladies participated in the event.

 

 

6. Health Check-up camp @ Freedom Park on 28-03-2010

 

The Health Checkup Camp was arranged by Indus Westside Hospital at Freedom Park on 28-03-2010 i.e on Sunday on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti. Ayurvedic, General Surgery, Cardiology, ENT, Pediatrics, and Orthopedics consultation was arranged along with that BMI, RBS (Glucometer) and ECG. We had 270 registrations, who have undergone several checkups and investigations.

 

7. FREE OSTEOPOROSIS CAMP AT IWH ON 10/4/2010 SATURDAY      

 

A free Osteoporosis camp was conducted on 10-04-2010, where people were given

·         Free Orthopedic consultation

·         Free bone strength testing – bone densitometry( BMD) and

·         Discount on x-rays, special tests and medicines

More than 40 people has utilized the services at this camp.

 

 

7. Health Check-up camp @ Cascade Resorts (Bannerghatta) on 04-04-2010

 

The Health Checkup Camp was arranged by Indus Westside Hospital Cascade Resorts (Bannerghatta) on 04-04-2010 i.e on Sunday on the occasion of Holi. Ayurvedic, General Surgery, Cardiology, ENT, Pediatrics, and Orthopedics consultation was arranged along with that BMI, RBS (Glucometer), ECG and ECHO. We had 90 registrations, who have undergone several checkups and investigations.

 

8. Autism Screening Camp on 21-04-2010

 

Autism screening camp was organized on 21-04-2010 at the Hospital to create awareness about Do’s and Don’ts for Autistics people. Total of five children were screened by the doctors.

 

 

9. Growth Assessment and ENT (Hearing Camp) on 22-05-2010

 

Growth Assessment camp was organized where children were screened for

  • Nutritional deficiency
  • Endocrine (hormonal) problems (eg. lack of growth hormone)
  • Undiagnosed disease
  • Genetic problems

 

ENT camp along with Hearing test was done where people of all ages and they were screened for

·         NOSE BLOCK

·         SINUS HEAD ACHE

·         DECREASED HEARING

·         DISCHARGE FROM THE EAR

·         VOICE CHANGE

·         NECK SWELLING

More than 100 people were screened at the hospital.

 

10.  Cardiac camp @ Sri Vinayaka Seva Trust (NGEF Layout)  on 30-05-2010

 

The Cardiac Camp was arranged by Indus Westside Hospital at Sri Vinayaka Seva Trust, NGEF Layout, Nagarbhavi on 30-05-2010i.e on Sunday.  Cardiology consultation was arranged along with that BMI, RBS (Glucometer) ECG & ECHO. We had 121 registrations, who have undergone the checkups and investigations.

 

11. Orthopedic Camp (Joint Replacement week) from 20—06-2010 to 26-06-2010.

 

Joint replacement week was celebrated from 20-06-2010 to 26-06-2010, where people were offered the following facilities,

·         Consolation for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and chronic knee or hip pain

·         Orthopedic surgeon consultation

·         X-rays – as advised by the doctor

·         Discount on blood tests

·         Discount on physiotherapy and medicines

13. CME on Cardiology Updates. 

 

CME on Cardiology updates was conducted on 3-07-10 @ The Club. More than 40 doctors has participated in the event. Dr. Ashok Jain (CMD- IWH) gave a brief introduction about the hospital.         Dr. Rahul Shetty spoke on Update on Myocardial Infarction and Therapeutics and Primary Interventions in Acute MI. The program was chaired by Dr. M.N. Bojamma.

 

14. CME on Pediatrics & OBG

 

CME on Critical Care, OBG, Ophthalmology, Neonatology, Endocrinology and Cardiology Tertiary care advances was conducted on 10-07-2010. Around 25 local doctors with In-house consultants have participated in the event.

 

15. Health Check-up Camp for SJR Public School

 

Health check-up camp was conducted for students of S.J.R public school from 26-07-2010 to   31-07-2010. More than 1099 students were screened by IWH pediatrician & Dentist. Vision test was also done.

 

16. Health Check-up camp @ Rotary Club Chandra Layout on 18-07-2010

 

A health Check-up camp was conducted in Association with Rotary Club on 18th August 10. 440 people were screened. Free blood sugar and ECG (Rs.50/-) was conducted.

 

17. Free Diabetic Camp on 13-08-2010.

 

Free Diabetic camp was conducted @ IWH on 13-08-2010. 36 people were screened for diabetics. Free BP & sugar test was done.

 

18. CME on Benefits of Early Enteral Nutrition

 

CME on Benefits of Early Enteral Nutrition was conducted on 03-09-2010. More 25 doctors with In House consultants have participated in the event. CME was sponsored by Abbott Nutrition.

 

19. Camp @ Rajajinagar RTO in association with TVS Tyres.

 

Free Health Check-up camp for Auto Drivers and there family was conducted from 14th – 16th sep 2010.



2008-2010: The Trust started built the Indus Westside Hospital on BDA CA site as per its objective


2005-2008:
  1. Financially supported the Samarthanam Trust for Disabled based out of J. P. Nagar Bangalore This trust is involved in rehabilitation and education of Blind and handicapped individuals.

 

  1. The Trust has supported students by paying fees for economically weaker students.

 

  1. The Trust has applied for land with BDA numerous times for starting schools and hospitals

 

  1. The Trust was allotted land in 2007 by BDA to build hospital in Jananabharthi layout Bangalore

 

  1. The Trust has sponsored 120 free eye surgeries for poor blind individuals in Solur and kanakpura area in March 2008. This project was done in collaboration with India Foundation USA and was conducted by Project Dristi / Dr. N. Solanki’s team from Mahaveer Eye Hospital, Bangalore. Total of 450 patients were examined for eye illnesses and 120 were identified as cataract and chosen for free eye surgeries to replace their eye cataract.
